Three Japanese companies Teijin Ltd., JGC Corp., and Itochu Corp. are planning to cooperate in the chemical recycling of polyester textiles.
In the agreement, Teijin will bring its proprietary chemical recycling technology, JGC will bring its expertise from its global engineering business, and Itochu will bring its extensive network of textile industry players to build a system for collecting discarded polyester fiber products and cost-effective chemical recycling technology for using such products as raw materials.
The three companies plan to expand the range of effective solutions for the mass disposal of used textile products.
