On Tuesday, French Total SA announced the discovery of gas at a well off the coast of Egypt with its partners BP and ENI.
The discovery was made at the Bashrush well on the North El Hammad licence, 11 kilometres (6.8 miles) off the Egyptian coast.
In the North El Hammad licence, Total has 25% of the stake while both BP and ENI have 37.5% stake respectively.
