Total SA and container shipping group CMA CGM finished a major liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering operation at the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
It was the record-biggest LNG bunkering operation with the 23,000 TEU containership receiving roughly 17,300 m3 of LNG.
According to Jérôme Leprince-Ringuet, Vice President of Marine Fuels at Total, the achievement marks the shipping industry’s first utilization of biomethane on this scale.
