According to PR Times article published on April 20, 2023, Toyo Engineering India Private Limited (Yukihiro Akimoto, President of Toyo-India), an Indian subsidiary of Toyo Engineering Corporation, will construct a new lubricant manufacturing plant in Izam, Southwestern Maharashtra, which is planned by ExxonMobil Lubringants Private Limited (EMLPL) in India. has been ordered. Toyo-India will carry out EPC work from design, procurement, construction to commissioning as a lump-sum contract.
EMLPL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation (EM), a major US energy company, sells a wide range of automotive and industrial engine oils, greases and lubricants under the Mobil brand.
This project is EMLPL's first new construction project in India, and it plans to manufacture high-performance Mobil brand lubricants to meet the growing domestic demand for automotive and industrial lubricants. Once operational, the majority of raw materials and packaging materials will be sourced from India, contributing to the Indian government's "Make in India" initiative.
