Turkey’s exports rose to $15 billion in July, the highest monthly exports figure of this year, the country’s trade minister Ruhsar Pekcan said on Tuesday. The figure represented a month-on-month increase of 11.5% and was the second-highest figure for July of all times, the minister said in a statement.
According to her, exports decreased 5.8% compared to the same month of 2019, due to the high base effect, less working day, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Turkey’s imports reached $17.8 billion last month, a decrease of 7.7% from July 2019. Pekcan noted that the export/import coverage ratio rose to 84.5% in July from 82.6% a year earlier.
