In June, Turkey’s total oil imports surged by 43.2% year-on-year to 3.99 million tonnes.
Crude oil imports skyrocketed by 73% to 2.85 million tons, according to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA). The raise was on the back of the recovery from the pandemic-induced slump.
Russia was Turkey’s top supplier of oil and oil products with a total of 1.13 million tonnes. Iraq and Kazakhstan followed with 985,868 tonnes and 344,234 tonnes, respectively.
Turkey’s exports of oil refinery products soared by 161.7% to 1.08 million tonnes while the output climbed by 39.8% to 3.17 million tonnes in the month.
June’s total domestic oil product sales rose by 2.72 million tonnes as it expanded by 10% year-on-year.
