Author: SSESSMENTS

UAE-based Brooge Petroleum and Gas Investment Co (BPGIC) has started the second phase storage facility which brings its total capacity at the Port of Fujairah by 600,000 cubic metres to 1 million cubic metres (6.3 million barrels). The phase two storage facility is capable of storing crude oil, fuel oil, and clean products. BPGIC’s parent, Brooge Energy, said all of the new capacity had been contracted. The first phase can store up to 400,000 cubic metres of fuel oil and clean products.

BPGIC is working on the phase three expansion which could add up to 3.5 million cubic metres of capacity. It will also include a 180,000 bpd conventional refinery and a 25,000 bpd modular refinery. The Port of Fujairah expects its oil storage capacity to triple to 12 million cubic metres by 2024. State-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (ADNOC) is also building underground caverns capable of storing up to 42 million barrels which are slated for completion in 2022.
