Czech Republic’s biggest refining and petrochemical company the Orlen Unipetrol Group plans to expand its ethylene unit in the production plant in Záluží, close to Litvinov in Most District in the Ústí nad Labem Region.
The expansion will provide the eleventh cracking furnace which will start operation in 2022. It will enable the ethylene unit’s production capacity to be 585,000 tpa in the future from the current 435,000 tpa.
The CZK700 million (USD32 million) investment for the expansion will support the company’s goal to raise its total petrochemical production from 0.9 to 1.4 million tpa.
