AlwaysFree: US August Oil Output Dropped

Author: SSESSMENTS

On Friday, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said that the country’s oil output in August fell.

In August, the US oil production slipped by 3.6% to 10.6 million bpd, the first fall in three months, on the back of the production collapse in the Gulf of Mexico, which hit the lowest level in seven years.

In the US Gulf of Mexico, crude output slumped by 27.5% to 1.2 million bpd, the monthly lowest since October 2013, due to the series of storms that resulted in the temporarily shut-in producing wells.

The US top crude producing states also posted a fall. Texas’ output dropped by 1.0% to 4.7 million bpd, but North Dakota posted a jump of 12.3% to 1.2 million bpd.

The country’s average output was at 12.4 million bpd in the same period a year ago.
