On Monday, a preliminary Reuters poll showed that the US crude stockpiles likely rose last week but the inventories of gasoline were estimated to fall for the sixth straight week.
In the week ended September 11, crude oil inventories are seen to rose by 2 million barrels to 502.4 million barrels.
Gasoline stockpiles were expected to drop by 600,000 barrels last week. Distillate inventories were likely climbed by 400,000 barrels.
The refinery utilization rate was likely to jump by 1.9% week-on-week to 73.7% of total capacity.
