Last week, the US rig count rose on the back of the returning rigs to the Gulf of Mexico following Hurricane Ida.
According to Baker Hughes, the total rig count in the week ended September 10 was higher by 98% year-on-year or 249 units. Oil rigs rose 7 to 401 this week, where 4 of them were based in the Permian Basin aside from the Gulf. The country’s gas rigs fell by 1 to 101.
On a weekly basis, the rig count climbed by 6 to503.
