For a proposed modernization and reconstruction project at subsidiary Bukhara Oil Refinery's condensate refinery at Karaoul Bazar in southwestern Uzbekistan, JSC Uzbekneftegaz has let a contract to SK E&C to deliver FEED services.
Besides basic engineering studies reviewing design, SK E&C will also provide applicable processing technologies, and cost estimates for execution of the planned modernization as part of the contract. It aims to increase existing processing capacities to 95 percent from 79 percent and production of light oil products to 91 percent from 77 percent.
In the modernization project, the addition of a new naphtha hydrotreating unit, fuel oil catalytic cracking unit, light naphtha isomerization unit, and a short-cycle adsorption unit will be included. Previously, SK E&C and Uzbekneftegaz signed agreements to proceed with and accelerate the modernization project signed on April 19, 2019, and February 7, 2020, respectively.
