AlwaysFree: Venezuela’s August Oil Exports Rose

Author: SSESSMENTS

According to internal documents from state-run oil firm Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) and Refinitiv Eikon data, Venezuela’s oil exports in August rose slightly after historic lows on the back of the increased purchases by India.

Last month, Venezuela exported crude oil and fuel in a total of 437,600 bpd, compared to the lowest record level of 400,000 bpd in June and July.

India’s Reliance Industries (RIL) resumed buying the crudes under a swap deal permitted by the US Treasury Department after a halt of three months. RIL bought 216,000 bpd in the month as Washington granted countries to exchange the oil for fuel and not cash.

Cuba followed behind with 66,000 bpd of crude and refined purchases, then Europe on the third position with 65,000 bpd. Members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) imported 53,160 bpd of fuel from Venezuela, mainly diesel and gasoil.
