Two sources familiar with the matter said that Venezuelan state-owned oil company Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) has restarted the gasoline output on the Cardon refinery.
Previously, the refinery’s catalytic cracking unit stopped activity after a fire occurred in the plant last week. The output was restarted several days after the incident and by Saturday, the unit was producing roughly 30,000 bpd of gasoline.
The 310,000 bpd Cardon refinery is the only refinery producing gasoline in Venezuela.
