On Wednesday, Westlake Chemical Corp. announced that it would acquire Hexion Inc.’s global epoxy business.
The acquisition is valued at USD1.2 billion and it is estimated to be completed in the first half of 2022. This acquisition will significantly expand Westlake’s integrated business by adding a downstream portfolio of coatings and composite products to its leading chloro-vinyls businesses.
The business is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and had net sales of around USD1.5 billion.
