China’s Zhenhua Petrochemical Co. Ltd has selected Honeywell UOP’s C3 Oleflex technology for its new propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant in Dongying City, Shandong Province, China. The new plant is designed to process 1 million tons/year of polymer-grade propylene. Under the deal, Honeywell UOP will provide services as well as supply equipment, catalysts, and adsorbents for the new unit. According to the service provider, Zhenhua’s new unit marks the 42nd and 43rd awards for the C3 Oleflex technology in China.
Zhenhua Petrochemical is a joint venture between Dongying Yatong Petrochemical and Zhenhua Import and Export Corporation. Shandong-based Dongying Yatong Petrochemical Co. Ltd. produces various petrochemical products such as gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, LPG, MTBE, propylene, petcoke, and sulfur. In the last few years, the company has been committed to increasing investment in chemical projects and upgrading the oil-to-chemicals industry.
