Enterprise Products Partners L.P. on June 30 announced that Japanese olefins trader Marubeni Corporation had signed a long-term deal for supply of polymer grade propylene (PGP) form Enterprise’s second propane dehydrogenation unit which is currently under construction. Enterprise’s second PDH unit is designed to convert 35,000 bpd of propane into 750,000 tons/year of PGP.
The plant is located at Enterprise’s complex near Mont Belvieu, Texas and expected to enter service in the second quarter of 2023. With the addition of the new unit, Enterprise will have a total capacity to produce up to 11 billion pounds/year of PGP. This consists of 8 billion pounds/year of PGP from seven propylene fractionators and 3 billion pounds/year of PGP from two PDH plants.
