AlwaysFreeRegister: New Polyethylene Plant Launched By Unipetrol

The principal part of the construction of the new polyethylene unit (PE3) has been completed and officially commissioned by Unipetrol. In the Czech Republic, the record-highest petrochemicals investment project ever represented by this plant.

Unipetrol recently launched the Natural Line producing natural polyethylene into full operation. To manufacture advanced types of natural polyethylene, the facility will enable Unipetrol to use the entire production capacity. Once the coronavirus-related restrictions are lifted, the operational test and delivery of the Black Line will take place. Black polyethylene produced by the Black Line.

The existing unit (PE1) will be replaced by the new polyethylene unit (PE3). With an annual capacity of 200,000 metric tons, operations of the PE2 unit will continue. The total production capacity of the petrochemical plant, from 320,000 metric tons, will jump to 470,000 metric tons of polyethylene in Litvínov. The total capital expenditure is expected at around $385 million (CZK 9.6 billion).
