AlwaysFreeRegister: Westlake Chemical Eyes Lake Charles Complex Restart In Late September

Author: SSESSMENTS

Westlake Chemical is eyeing restarts of some units at its complex at Lake Charles in Louisiana in late September. The US-based chemicals company also noted that full production in the complex would likely start in October. Westlake and many other chemical and energy firms in Lake Charles suffered damage from Hurricane Laura which made landfall near the area in late August. According to Westlake, power provider Entergy reported extensive damage at its distribution network in the Lake Charles area. Entergy also said that power outages might last for several weeks, causing delays for companies to restart their operations. Officials in Louisiana and Texas estimated that the hurricane had incurred around $8 billion-12 billion of insurable losses.
