An Indian PVC producer contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM stated that price adjustment is unnecessary amid the current market situation. The current demand for PVC in India is only around 50% of the normal volume. The slow demand predicted to persist amid the monsoon season. Despite the slow demand, the producer itself does not have any plans to trim local offers.
On the supply front, the producer mentioned that PVC supply in the India market is tight at the moment. In the local market, the leading Indian PVC producer still needs to export their cargoes to fulfil the demand of their contract-based customers in China. The leading PVC producer is reportedly exporting around 100,000 tons in total and delivering it month by month since March. Market talks have it that the producer has completed most of the orders and only needs to export 10-20% from the total volume. While in the import market, SSESSMENTS.COM noted that the total volume of import PVC to India in June decreased by 30,213 tons as compared to May. Amidst the sluggish demand, the limited supply is not a serious matter, the producer added.
