A trader in Indonesia contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM’s team revealed that the company is unable to meet inquiries for local and localized PP cargoes due to supply issue. As stated, despite receiving a lot of inquiries from buyers in Medan, the trader could not meet all orders as the PP inventory at the trader’s end is rather low since they did not get an allocation from a Vietnamese producer for this month.
In terms of pricing, on the weekly comparison, SSESSMENTS.COM noted that offers for local and localized Vietnamese PP Homo Injection and PP Homo Raffia from the trader remain stable. Deals for local PP Homo Injection concluded at the same level to the low-end offers at IDR14,200,000/ton ($998/ton) on cash, FD Indonesia basis and excluding 10% VAT. While deals for local PP Homo Raffia concluded at the same level to the initial offers at IDR14,200,000-14,400,000/ton ($998-1,012/ton) on the same payment and delivery term.
As for PP Homo Film, the trader increased the offers by IDR200,000/ton ($14/ton) on a weekly comparison on the high-end of the price range. No deals concluded as the trader is not aggressively offering these cargoes due to the limited quantity. As such, buyers’ bids between IDR700,000-900,000/ton ($49-63/ton) lower than the initial offers got rejected. On the production sector, the trader mentioned that the production at their PP supplier is running at 80% from normal rates due to slow demand from the transportation sector, as stated to SSESSMENTS.COM.
