The managing director of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Behzad Mohammadi said that the country aimed to increase propylene production to 3 million tons/year by the Iranian calendar year of 1404 which starts in March 2025. As SSESSMENTS.COM noted, Iran’s current propylene production capacity is about 980,000 tons/year.
Previously SSESSMENTS.COM reported that Iran is planning some projects to ease its propylene shortages. The country is struggling with an annual propylene shortage of 175,000 tons. Iran’s propylene shortages are expected to reach 700,000 tons by 2025-2026, NPC data showed.
