NewsSSESSMENTS: Philippines PVC Producer Shares Plan On Production And Delivery Activity Following Government Decision On Lockdown

Author: SSESSMENTS

A Philippines PVC producer shared with SSESSMENTS.COM the plan on production and delivery activity following the government’s decision on the lockdown. The Philippines government has officially announced that the lockdown in the country will be expired on May 15 and industries as well as businesses will be allowed to resume activity starting from May 16. Although some conditions, such as wearing masks and physical distancing will still be implemented to the citizens.

On the production side, SSESSMENTS.COM was informed that the producer plans to restart production on May 16. “We will not run the plant at full capacity yet. As the plant has been shut for a while, we need to run at low rates to check some problems or damages. After that, the operating rates will be increased gradually,” the producer explained.  Pertaining to the backlogs, the producer will confirm with customers whether their companies already started operations or not. Furthermore, the producer has to monitor both local and international market trends before announcing the new offers.

For the employees working hours, the producer plans to implement normal working hours directly starting from May 16, especially for employees working on-site as the plant needs to run 24/7. The producer added to SSESSMENTS.COM that public transportation will also resume operation starting from May 16 but might be only around 50%. Not only the business owners but citizens are happy with the government’s decision as some of them do not have jobs and income during the lockdown, which led to higher unemployment and crime rates.
