The skyrocketed import PE and PP offers to Vietnam have discouraged buyers from making procurements. A converter in Vietnam contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM’s team revealed the latest import PE offers the company received. According to the converter, import PE offers from the leading Saudi polyolefins producer surfaced with a notable upward price adjustment. As compared to a fortnight ago, the producer increased the offers between $60-70/ton for HDPE Film and $40-60/ton for LLDPE Film C4. The converter further added that Qatari LLDPE Film C4 offers also slightly increased between $10-20/ton compared to last week’s level. For PP grades, import offers for PP Homo Film and PP Homo Raffia of Saudi origin are available at $1,030/ton and $1,000/ton respectively, which is deemed too high.
Due to the soared import prices, the converter has not concluded any deals yet. Most likely will skip procurement for this week. Further added, as the converter observed that most buyers are showing stiff resistance towards the high import offers, the company is hoping to see a downward price adjustment from the foreign suppliers in the upcoming week. For end-product demand, the converter told SSESSMENTS.COM that demand from the local market is quite steady while from the export market remains slow.
