A Thai PE producer reported to SSESSMENTS.COM that the company adjusted LLDPE Film C4 offers to China twice in the same week. On Monday, April 13, the producer’s offers for the grade surfaced at $80/ton higher than offers in the previous week, at $850/ton on LC at sight, CIF China main port basis.
A day later, the producer decreased the offers by $30/ton considering softer futures prices and weaker buying sentiment. As demand from Chinese converters is dull, the producer had to decrease offers once again. On April 16, SSESSMENTS.COM was informed that the producer trimmed LLDPE Film C4 offers by $45/ton from Tuesday’s level. Therefore, the producer has decreased offers for the grade by $75/ton within the week, almost bringing back to last week’s level as the current offer level is only $5/ton higher compared to last week.
Regarding offers for other grades, the producer told SSESSMENTS.COM that no adjustments were applied so far. HDPE Film offers remain unchanged compared to Tuesday’s level while offers for other grades were unchanged since Monday. “Although the offers were not adjusted, we are open for bids,” the producer said.
