As contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM, a Thai PE producer mentioned that the company is not offering a certain PE grade to Indonesia starting in the week commencing July 6 until August. The producer has no offers for mLLDPE C6 due to very low inventory. The producer plans to use the producer’s old LLDPE plant to produce mLLDPE C6 later in mid-August. After the shift in production, the producer will resume offering the grade to Indonesia.
Pertaining to offers for other PE grades, the producer informed SSESSMENTS.COM that the levels on CIF basis remain stable compared to last week. Similarly, offers for localized LDPE Film were also unchanged. According to the producer, demand for the grade is sluggish and the producer is unable to sell even at lower levels. Currently, LDPE Film offers from the producer stand between IDR14,200,000-14,300,000/ton ($984-991/ton) on cash, FD Indonesia basis and excluding 10% VAT. Responses towards the offers were cold. On the other hand, offers for localized HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 cargoes from the producer went up by IDR300,000/ton ($21/ton) compared to the same period due to the depreciation of Rupiah.
For HDPE Blow Moulding and HDPE Pipe, the producer has inventory in the warehouses in Jakarta. Meanwhile, other grades are unavailable in Indonesia yet. “Customers need to wait for the cargoes to be shipped from Thailand,” the producer said to SSESSMENTS.COM.
