SSESSMENTS.COM previously reported that a Thai PE producer made significant corrections on import PE offers to the Chinese market. Compared to offers on last Tuesday, April 14, the producer initiated a price cut of $120/ton, $60/ton and $20/ton on HDPE Film, HDPE Yarn and LDPE Film respectively. While for LLDPE Film C4, the offers were adjusted down by $5/ton compared to offers on Thursday, April 16.
As the week progresses, market players informed SSESSMENTS.COM that concluded deals are much lower than initial offers. Thai producer finally reached a deal with customers for HDPE Film at $780/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis; $30/ton lower than Monday’s offer level. The offer given for HDPE Yarn has not changed while no deals reported yet between the Thai producer and customer.
While for LLDPE Film C4, the cargoes were sold at initial offer level of $770/ton on April 20. Another transaction occurred on April 23 at $730/ton, $40/ton drop compared to April 20. Market talks have it that for Thai LLDPE Film C4, there were deals at $700/ton on LC at sight, CIF China main ports basis, however, the producer refuted on such transaction at the time of writing. The producer source clarified to SSESSMENTS.COM that the company has further adjusted down import PE offers compared to the ones announced on Monday (April 20). The latest offers surfaced with a reduction of $30/ton for HDPE Film, $50/ton for LDPE Film and $40/ton for LLDPE Film C4.
