NewsSSESSMENTS: Updates On Turnaround Maintenance At Formosa’s PVC, VCM Units

Market sources with knowledge of the matter informed SSESSMENTS.COM on the latest updates on turnaround maintenance at polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) units of Formosa Plastics USA, part of Formosa Petrochemical, located in Point Comfort complex, Texas. According to the sources, the turnaround maintenance at the company’s PVC plant with a capacity of 789,000 tons/year was scheduled to finish by the end of February, however, the maintenance is still ongoing within the week commencing March 2.

Meanwhile, for the VCM unit with a capacity of 753,000 tons/year, the maintenance is slated to last until mid-March. More added, maintenance at both PVC and VCM facilities are expected to limit the availability of export volume in March and April, as stated to SSESSMENTS.COM.
