A Vietnamese trader shared with SSESSMENTS.COM the adjustments on import PE offers of several origins to the country. August shipment offers for HDPE Yarn and LLDPE Film C4 from the leading Indian petrochemical producer surged by $40/ton. From the leading Saudi polyolefins producer, the trader received stable offers for LLDPE Film C4 cargoes, while HDPE Film offers increased by $20/ton with shipment from Singapore. Meanwhile, South Korean HDPE Film cargoes are being offered at $930/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis. As for Thai cargoes, the trader mentioned that current offers from a Thai PE producer are much higher than import PE offers in the market due to the tight supply at the producer’s end. Offers for HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 moved up between $30-40/ton. All changes are on the weekly comparison.
Demand-wise, sales for PE resins on the trader’s end have started to improve as buyers place more inquiries this week. The trader believes that improvement in buying sentiment is stimulated by the firmer international prices coupled with tight supply in Vietnam market. However, healthy demand predicted to be short-lived since the rainy season will continue to dampen buying sentiment, SSESSMENTS.COM was told.
