A source from Formosa Plastics Corporation (FPC) informed SSESSMENTS.COM that the company plans to shut its EDC, VCM, and PVC plants one by one for maintenance purposes. According to the producer source, the company's 1.65 million tons/year ethylene dichloride (EDC), 650,000 tons/year VCM, and 520,000 tons/year PVC plant will be shut from mid-August until early September. Further added, the maintenance will not affect the August allocation significantly, however, allocation cut is unavoidable. At the moment, the company’s inventory level is relatively low.
