Japan’s Taiyo Petrochemical is operating its SM (styrene monomer) plant at a reduced rate, SSESSMENTS.COM was told. For the remaining of June 2020, the producer is expected to continue operating its SM plant at around 80% from normal capacity due to commercial reasons. Located in Ube, Japan, the plant has a nameplate capacity of 370,000 tons/year.
