Market sources informed SSESSMENTS.COM that Zhejiang Petrochemical Co Ltd (ZPZ) managed to produce on-specification acrylonitrile (ACN) output at its new plant last week. The new ACN plant was started up on June 23 and is now operating at around 80% rate. ZPC initially planned to start up the 260,000 tons/year plant in early May, but the date was then delayed to mid-June. ACN is the primary feedstock to produce acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS).
