- A producer based in China reported to SSESSMENTS.COM that the company’s current offers for local LLDPE Film C4 increased between CNY300-400/ton ($42-57/ton) on a weekly comparison. The producer further explained that the increment made was mainly driven by the rebound in the futures prices and spot prices last week. Aside from that, supply shortage, state of demand as well as the delayed Iranian cargoes also counted as the factors that supported the price increase.
- In the import market, a trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM that since last week, PE prices have been on a relentless uptrend. On Monday, July 13, the trader has yet to receive any fresh offers from foreign suppliers. In the open market, most mainstream offers are still sitting in high-level on the back of limited supply coupled with high monomer prices. Whereas the trader itself decided to maintain the stable offers for import HDPE Film, LDPE Film, and LLDPE Film C4 of Saudi origin on a weekly comparison. On month-on-month comparison, the trader notices that import Middle Eastern LDPE Film offers have increased between $120-130/ton; which is two times increment of LLDPE Film C4 offers. Within this week, some traders are likely to increase their offers if there is no update regarding the delayed Iranian cargoes.
