Market sources informed SSESSMENTS.COM that Indonesia’s sole naphtha cracker unit has been brought on stream on Wednesday, May 6. Previously, Chandra Asri Petrochemical experienced an unplanned shutdown at the cracker unit with a capacity of 900,000 tons/year ethylene and 490,000 tons/year propylene between May 2-3.
The sources also revealed to SSESSMENTS.COM that HDPE plant with a capacity of 136,000 tons/year was shut on May 5. Similar to the producer’s new HDPE/LLDPE swing plant with a capacity of 400,000 tons/year that was shut on Monday (May 4), shutdown at the HDPE plant will also last for two weeks.
