Largest local trading house in Indonesia faces supply issues, hence, the company decided to amend local and localized PE and PP offers in hefty-mark, as told to SSESSMENTS.COM. This week, the trader had adjusted up offers for local and localized Southeast Asian HDPE grades by IDR200,000/ton ($14/ton). For local and localized Southeast Asian LLDPE Film C4, the offers raised by IDR400,000/ton ($28/ton). Particularly for LDPE Film cargoes, the adjustment is more notable than other PE grades. The trader applied upward adjustment for localized LDPE Film cargoes of Malaysia origin as much as IDR1,000,000/ton ($69/ton). All price changes are on a weekly comparison. In the import market, the trader received offers for LLDPE Film C4 of Philippines origin at $860/ton on LC at sight, CIF Indonesia Main Port basis, yet not interested in taking the cargoes.
Whereas for localized PP Homopolymers of Southeast Asia origin, the trader’s offers were hiked between IDR700,000-800,000/ton ($48-55/ton) for PP Homo Injection and PP Homo Raffia and by IDR700,000/ton ($48/ton) for PP Homo Film. So far, no fresh import PP offers received from Southeast Asian suppliers.
As mentioned before, the upward adjustments for both PE and PP cargoes are mainly driven by the limited availability from the trader’s end. Thus, the trader has no pressure in selling even when demand for both grades in the domestic market is weak and the number of deals is scanty, SSESSMENTS.COM was told.
