A Thai trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM that the company is trying to compete with local cargoes and match localized offers with local PE producer’s price list. On the trader’s end, localized Malaysian PE offers across all grades are available between THB26,500-31,500/ton ($824-979/ton) on cash, FD Thailand basis, and excluding 7% VAT. The trader believes that buyers might place orders citing that the current level is low and quite close to the import offers. Moreover, no minimum purchases required for these cargoes.
From the export market, last week, the trader sold Malaysian HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 between $730-740/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis. However, coming to this week, the trader does not have offers for both cargoes. While for LDPE Film, the offers moved up by $20/ton from last week’s level. So far, the trader is still waiting for feedback from buyers. Demand-wise, overall demand is still below normal, but this week’s PE demand is better than last week considering some orders received from buyers.
