- A Thailand-based trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM that a Middle Eastern PE producer has announced April shipment offers to Thailand market with a notable reduction. The producer decided to adjust down offers for HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 by $50/ton and $55/ton, respectively compared to March shipment levels.
- Likewise, a Vietnamese converter stated that on the monthly comparison, April shipment offers for HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 from the leading Saudi polyolefins producer declined by $50/ton and $60/ton, respectively. While offers for LDPE Film decreased between $80-90/ton. The converter only purchased 100 tons of LDPE Film at the same level to the initial offers at $900/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis. Demand-wise, demand from the converter’s end is a bit slower, especially for shopping bags, as people are not going out much due to the Coronavirus. Currently, their factories are running at 80-85% from normal capacity. The converter opined to SSESSMENTS.COM that PE prices will remain soft in the near term.
