Chinese market sources informed SSESSMENTS.COM that supply of import LLDPE Film C4 of Indonesia origin to China market has been disrupted. Market participants informed that due to the plant outage, the leading Indonesian polyolefins producer kept delaying the shipment for export LLDPE Film C4 to the China market. However, in the end the producer decided to cancel the outstanding orders. One of China’s largest trading house estimated that the producer cancelled orders with a total volume of 20,000 tons.
SSESSMENTS.COM was told that the order cancellation would not have a significant impact on the China market in general. However, it is a big issue for traders as it is difficult to find the replacement in the current supply situation. Even from the Middle Eastern producers, the offers are scarce. Most suppliers are having a tight supply. Added to that, demand in other regions such as Turkey and India is strong at the moment.
Further explained, a producer based in China informed that usually the leading Indonesian polyolefins producer export 4,000 tons of LLDPE Film C4 to China market on a monthly basis. However, market talks have it that this time the producer allocated 10,000 tons of LLDPE Film C4 as currently, this grade has limited availability in China market, especially for LLDPE with slip or additives grades, as stated to SSESSMENTS.COM.
